Fredag d. 8. maj 2026 / Nørre Campus / Universitetsparken

The stage is yours

Here is your opportunity to engage or entertain the entire university by taking your research, your association, or your project to the stage.

The entire UCPH can be your audience
You get to perform for:

  • Staff (scientific as well as administrative)
  • Students
  • Ph.d. Students

We encourage content that is relevant across the audience groups. We are aiming to create a non-Danish speaking track throughout the program as well, so activities in English are welcome.

Recommended Formats
We recommend activities that:

  • Entertaining the audience because you are a good communicator and/or involve the audience in a debate, quiz or competition
  • Has a duration of max. 45 minutes
  • Requires maximum 5 persons on the stage at the time, if not, we need to figure out a location solution outside the tents

There are a lot of simultaneous activities during the festival, so the festival guests will circulate between tents and stages. Due to this, we can’t expect the guests to all participate in all activities “from beginning to end”.

Successful previous formats have been:

  • Quiz/Kahoot
  • Talks and conversations with questions from the audience
  • Slam formats (Science Slam as well as PseudoScienceSlam)
  • Short challenges (“Solve a problem, win a prize!”)
  • Award Shows
  • Practical Physics/Chemistry shows
  • Competitions, tombola, and raffles

We are always interested in testing new relevant formats. The KU Festival is furthermore an opportunity to test out planned activities for Folkemødet, Bloom etc.

The KU Festival furthers and supports the community across UCPH
The purpose of the KU Festival is to gather the entire UCPH and advance the community and collaboration between students and staff across the faculties and campuses.

This purpose is realised with the many different Revues meet up and coordinate their shared performance in the months leading to the festival.
At the same time the KU Festival can inspire the participants to engage in the university life at UCPH, for instance by shining a spotlight on the many different associations the students and staff can join and get engaged in.

Timeframe
As a general rule this is part of the afternoon program, that is places between 14-18.

In certain circumstances some activities, for instance those held outside at the festival site, can be allowed to fit into a later time slot. Contact program@kufestival.dk to inquire further about this.

Stage and gear
All stages have:

  • A low stage
  • Speaker system, microphones, and sound technician/assistant
  • Benches and/or tables

Other desired elements must be coordinated well in advance.

Some stages also have a TV screen approximately 90 inches.

Limitations

  • Activities can’t be based on handing out beverages or alcohol. The KU Festival is partially sponsored by Carlsberg
  • The safety of the festival site is important. Please confer with us before you plan any explosions, firework or fire
  • Be aware that with a lot of simultaneous program events, presentations will have to function despite some sound pollution from the surrounding stages and activities
  • We are a small planning and production crew. You will need to plan and run the production of your own event within the agreed perimeters

Get in touch
Contact program@kufestival.dk if you or your association/project are interested in participating in the KU Festival program.

Deadline
The deadline for submitting entries for the afternoon program is 9th of January 2026
