Take the stage at KU Festival

Do you have an idea for an event that can engage and entertain the entire university? Pitch your idea here and take the stage with your research, studies, association, or project.

How to apply

Send an email to kufestival@ku.dk including:

• A title and a brief description of your event idea
• The event format
• Who you consider taking the stage (researchers, students, associations, etc.)

Deadline: Submit your idea no later than January 8, 2027

About events at KU Festival

Format
Your event could be a talk, a live interview, a panel debate, a quiz, a competition, etc.

Events can last 30–40 minutes. A maximum of 4 people can be on stage at the same time; otherwise, an alternative arrangement outside of a tent will be required.

The festival welcomes activities that have been tested or planned for events like Folkemødet, Bloom, etc.

Audience
You will be presenting to UCPH students and staff (researchers, PhD students, and administrative staff). Consider creating content that appeals to a broad range of these groups.

Language
Events can be held in either Danish or English.

TimingThe afternoon program takes place between 14:00 and 18:00.

In special cases activities taking place in the open festival grounds may be scheduled for later.

Stages and Equipment
All stages feature:

• A low-profile stage
• A sound system, microphones, and a sound technician/assistant
• Benches and/or tables
• Some stages are equipped with a TV screen

Purpose of KU Festival
The purpose of the KU Festival is to bring the entire University of Copenhagen (KU) community together, fostering a sense of unity among students and staff across all campuses.

Limitations

• Activities may not involve the distribution of beverages or alcohol.
• Safety on the festival grounds is a priority; please consult with us before planning any chemistry experiments.
• As many activities take place simultaneously, presenters should expect some background noise from nearby stages.
• We are a small planning and operations team. You will therefore need to be prepared to plan and execute your activity yourselves – with guidance and input from us.
