Mumle
After a debut festival summer with more than 20 concerts under her own name, packed tents and full seats, Mumle is becoming a well-established name on the Danish music scene.
Mumle kick-started his music journey just over a year ago with the track “Det Modsatte”, which quickly turned out to be a completely inevitable hit. Since then, she has released the radio hit “Et For Dig” and the duet with Svea S “Hvor Solen Ik’ Skinner”, which is still at the top of both the streaming and radio charts.
Behind Mumle we find Julia Kathrine Hansen. She is 21 years old, and became a student in the summer of ’23. She was born and raised in Haderslev, and has recently moved to the smaller town of Vamdrup; also in Southern Jutland.
“Music has saved my quirky personality. I would probably have been boring as hell without it.”
Murmur (mumle) is the little voice we all have inside us, which is neither polite, thoughtful, nor sweet, but is just, first and foremost, brutally honest. And that perfectly describes the music Mumle makes. It’s humorous, it’s real, it’s hugely relatable, and it’s really very much about self-discovery and contains a good deal of self-irony.
She is inspired by the people she surrounds herself with in her everyday life; the things that happen to her friends, the things they talk about in the group, the way they talk to each other, but also from TV series with funny stereotypes or things she stumbles upon when she sits stoned, kick-start Mumle’s imagination and inspiration.
Mumle performed at KU Festival 2025.
